Stop Snoring, Remedy, Solution and Treatment

July 2nd, 2007 by admin

Snoring is often associated with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) which means that after a series of snoring, there is stopping of breathing for a few seconds and then the cycle is repeated. Fortunately not everyone who snores suffers from this breathing problem. Snoring usually results when the airway is obstructed during sleep- such as when there is a falling back of the tounge, or a clogged nose resulting to mouth breathing.

Overweight people snore more often and much louder than slender sleepers.

There are no medicines available to control this problem but here are some simple strategies/solution/treatment that might help:

  • Elevate your head by placing a brick or two under the posts at the head of the bed.
  • Don’t sleep on your back. To keep from rolling onto your back, try sewing a pocket on the back of your pajama top and fill it with marbles or jackstones.
  • If you are overweight, go on a diet.
  • Blog your nose before bedtime. A clogged nose or stuffed-up sinus causes you to breathe through your mouth, which increases your possibility of snoring.
