Do You Need a Breast Lift?
Not every woman is a candidate for breast lift. Only women who want the shape and position of their breasts enhanced should have this procedure done. So in what conditions can breast lift or mastopexy be applied?
Breast Lift is for women with the following conditions:
-
Breasts that are sagging or drooping
-
Breasts lacking in fullness and firmness
-
Breasts with nipples and areolas pointing downward
These conditions may be inherited or may have been caused by certain factors, weight loss, pregnancy and breastfeeding being the most common.
Breast lift is performed by removing excess skin and making the surrounding tissue tight to reshape and reposition the breasts. It can be performed at any age for as long as the breasts are already fully developed.
If you have naturally large breasts, the result of breast lift may not last as long as if it were done on smaller breasts. This is mainly due to the gravity factor. Some women also decide to have breast lift done even before they start having children, and this is alright because this procedure will not affect a woman’s ability to breast feed later on when she decides to have kids. However, it is still best to have a discussion with the surgeon regarding that to be certain.
Breast Lift Cost, as a general rule, is not covered by insurance. But there are certain exceptions where insurance coverage can be made available. So if you want to have this procedure done, it is better to be prepared physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.
